This page explains what Tillion is and isn’t, and what you should know before using our platform. We’ve written this in plain language because we believe transparency matters — for everyone who uses Tillion.

Tillion, Inc. (“Tillion,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is a technology company. We are not a law firm, and we do not practice law.
No employee, officer, or representative of Tillion is acting as your attorney when you use our platform. Using Tillion does not create an attorney-client relationship.
Nothing on the Tillion platform — including any output, analysis, suggestion, flag, summary, recommendation, or template — constitutes legal advice, a legal opinion, or a legal recommendation. All output is provided for general informational and analytical purposes only. You should not act or refrain from acting based solely on the platform’s output without consulting a qualified legal professional. Tillion does not accept any liability to any person who relies on any output, content, or information from the platform as formal legal advice.
Because we are not a law firm, we are not subject to the regulatory requirements that govern licensed attorneys — including professional indemnity insurance, bar association oversight. You will not have the right to file a complaint about Tillion with any bar association, legal ombudsman, or attorney regulatory body.
Tillion provides AI-powered tools and services designed to help you work with contracts, legal documents, and related business matters.
The platform’s output — regardless of how detailed or specific — is not a substitute for the independent judgment of a qualified legal professional. You should not treat any output as a final legal conclusion or act on it without appropriate professional review. We do not guarantee that any document reviewed, generated, or analyzed through the platform is legally sufficient, compliant with applicable laws, or suitable for any particular transaction.
While we work continuously to improve quality and accuracy, our AI can make mistakes. Output may contain errors, omissions, or inaccuracies. AI models may misinterpret language, miss important context, or fail to reflect the most recent legal developments or the specific laws applicable to your jurisdiction.
Tillion makes no representations or warranties that its output is accurate, complete, current, or suitable for any particular purpose. You are solely responsible for reviewing and verifying all output before relying on it.
Tillion may provide document templates for common legal and business agreements. These templates are starting points, not finished legal documents. They reflect generally accepted terms and structures but have not been tailored to your specific needs, reviewed for compliance with the laws of your jurisdiction, or assessed for suitability in any particular transaction.
Before using any template, you should review it carefully. Tillion offers several ways to do this: you may review and customize the template yourself using Tillion’s tools; invite your own attorney to collaborate within the platform; or engage an independent attorney through the Tillion Attorney Network. Each of these options is subject to the limitations described in this page.
Regardless of which review option you choose, you are solely responsible for the final content of any document you create, customize, or execute based on a Tillion template. We strongly recommend that any template be reviewed by a qualified attorney before you sign or send it.
Tillion serves legal professionals (attorneys, in-house counsel, paralegals) and business professionals who are not trained lawyers (startup founders, executives, procurement and operations teams). Regardless of your background, Tillion’s output is your starting point.
If you are not a legal professional: legal documents often contain language whose meaning depends on case law, statutory interpretation, or jurisdictional context that may not be apparent from the text alone. Tillion’s AI cannot fully replace the expertise of a qualified attorney. We strongly encourage you to have significant contracts reviewed by a licensed attorney — you can invite your own lawyer to the platform or connect with one through our Attorney Network.
If you are a legal professional: Tillion is designed to assist your work, not replace your professional judgment. You remain responsible for independently verifying output and for all advice and decisions you make on behalf of your clients.
Bring your own attorney. You may invite your own legal counsel to access specific data rooms or threads. Any attorney-client relationship exists solely between you and your attorney — not between you and Tillion.
Tillion Attorney Network. We provide access to a network of independent, licensed attorneys available for consultation. These attorneys are not employees, agents, or representatives of Tillion. Your attorney-client relationship is formed directly with the individual attorney or their firm. Tillion does not supervise, control, or endorse any advice they provide, and is not responsible for the quality or outcome of their services. Fees and engagement terms are agreed upon directly between you and the attorney. Tillion’s role is limited to facilitating introductions and providing a platform for collaboration.
You control who has access to your data rooms and threads. It is your responsibility to ensure that only authorized individuals can view your documents and analysis. The fact that a licensed attorney has access to a data room does not automatically make all content within that space privileged under law. Attorney-client privilege depends on the nature of the relationship and communications between you and the attorney, and the applicable law — not on the platform’s architecture. While Tillion was designed to support privilege where applicable, it cannot guarantee it. AI-generated analysis shared in data rooms remains subject to all limitations described in this page.
Guidance from Tillion’s customer support or team members is provided for general informational purposes only. It does not constitute legal, financial, or professional advice. Our team members are not acting as your attorneys, even when they hold a law degree or have been certified as attorneys. Communications with our team do not create an attorney-client relationship.
Unless you have engaged your own attorney or an attorney through the Tillion Attorney Network, you are responsible for representing yourself in any legal matter carried out through our platform.
By using Tillion, you acknowledge that any legal or business decisions you make based on the platform’s output are your sole responsibility. You should seek independent legal advice when needed, verify all output before relying on it, and ensure that your use of Tillion complies with all applicable laws, regulations, and professional obligations. You are responsible for maintaining your account credentials and for all activities under your account, including actions by individuals you have granted access to your data rooms.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the platform, all output, and all templates are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind — including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that output will be accurate, complete, or current; that the platform will meet your specific requirements; that analysis complies with the laws of any jurisdiction; or that any attorney in the Tillion Attorney Network will meet your expectations.
We take the security of your data seriously. You retain ownership of documents you upload and content you create on the platform. For full details on how we collect, use, and protect your data, please refer to our Privacy Policy.
The availability of Tillion does not imply that our platform is validated or tested for compliance with the laws of any particular jurisdiction. You are responsible for determining whether Tillion is appropriate for your transactions and jurisdictions. The platform may contain links to third-party websites or resources; Tillion does not endorse or assume responsibility for any third-party content.
